Water crises, artificial intelligence, climate change, genetic engineering, etc. The current era is fraught with challenges that must be addressed even when no definitive solution is available. Addressing these topics in the classroom to prepare students to tackle complex problems requires teachers to develop specific teaching and learning strategies.

This course component seeks to foster reflective discussions centered on contextualized problem areas that engage with both the current demands of the school and the dynamics of society within the new global order characteristic of late modernity.
